More information about Don Mannarone Rosso Terre Siciliane IGT - Mánnara
The Don Mannarone Terre Siciliane from Mánnara appears a deep dark red in the glass.
Fruity aromas of ripe red berries are immediately noticeable on the nose. The palate is full of baroque opulence. The berry fruit aromas (especially cassis, plums, juicy blackberries and sour cherries) can be found here and are complemented by the scent of Mediterranean herbs (thyme) and warm spices (vanilla, pepper).
The tannin is delicate and very fine, the acidity is excellently integrated. The finish is extremely long and you can tell that the Don Mannarone is the winery's flagship wine. The full berry fruit and warm spices once again come to the fore here.
Vinification of the Don Mannarone Rosso Mánnara
The Don Mannarone IGT Terre Siciliane from Mánnara is a cuvée made from Nero d'Avola, Merlot and Syrah. The grapes grow in the best conditions in the western part of Sicily. The soil consists largely of silicate-rich loam. After careful harvesting, the grapes are brought to the winery, where they are crushed and matured separately in stainless steel and barrique barrels. After ageing, the wine is cuvéetiert.
The Don Mannarone was named after the founder of the winery and is similar in style to the northern Italian Amarone due to its rich aromas and subtle but well-integrated residual sugar.
