More information about 1701 Rosé - Domaine Montrose
The barrel-aged 1701 Rosé from the Sud-Ouest wine-growing region presents itself in the glass in luminous ruby red, light red, light yellow, strawberry pink. When given some air by swirling, this rosé reveals an excellent balance, as it does not appear watery, syrupy or liqueur-like on the sides of the glass. This French cuvée reveals wonderfully expressive notes of mango, physalis, guava and pineapple in the glass. Added to this are hints of sun-warmed rock and forest floor.
Domaine Montrose 1701 Rosé presents itself to the connoisseur as wonderfully dry. This rosé wine never appears coarse or austere, as one might expect from a wine in the top-quality segment. On the finish, this youthful wine from the Sud-Ouest wine-growing region finally delights with a lovely length. Once again, hints of papaya and Galia melon appear.
Vinification of Domaine Montrose 1701 Rosé
The well-balanced 1701 Rosé from France is a cuvée made from the grape varieties Grenache Noir, Grenache Blanc, Roussanne and Syrah. The 1701 Rosé is an Old World wine through and through, as this Frenchman exudes an exceptional European charm that clearly underscores the success of wines from the Old World. The ripeness of the grapes for this wine made from Grenache Noir, Grenache Blanc, Roussanne and Syrah is influenced to a significant degree by the climate of the growing region. In Sud Ouest the grapes thrive in a warm climate, which is reflected, among other things, in particularly well-ripened grapes and a relatively high must weight. After harvesting, the grapes are quickly brought to the press house. There they are selected and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks and large wooden casks at controlled temperatures. After the end of fermentation, the 1701 Rosé can continue to harmonize on the fine lees for 5 months.
