More information about Meursault AOC - Bouchard Père & Fils
In the glass, the Meursault of Bouchard Père & Fils shows a bright golden yellow color. Swiveling the wine glass, one can perceive a perfect balance in this white wine, as it does not stand out on the walls of the glass, neither watery nor syrupy or liqueur-like. Poured into a white wine glass, this Old World white wine presents wonderfully expressive aromas of gooseberry, vineyard peach, mirabelle plum and white currant, rounded out by forest floor, cream candy and brioche contributed by barrel aging.
The Bouchard Père & Fils Meursault presents itself to the wine drinker pleasantly dry. This white wine never shows itself coarse or meager, as one might expect from a wine icon wine segment. On the palate, the texture of this balanced white wine is wonderfully melting and dense. Finally, on the finish, this youthful from the Burgundy wine region delights with beautiful length. There are again hints of vineyard peach and peach. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the soils dominated by marl and limestone join in.
Vinification of the Bouchard Père & Fils Meursault
The basis for the balanced Meursault from Burgundy are grapes from the Chardonnay grape variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Burgundy. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of limestone and marl. Meursault is an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, as this Frenchman breathes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underscores the success of Old World wines. The grapes for this white wine from France are harvested, at the time of optimal ripeness, exclusively by hand. After the harvest, the grapes are quickly taken to the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully ground. Fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks and small wood at controlled temperatures. At the end of the fermentation, the Meursault is left to mature on its fine lees for a few months.
