Selling wine accessories was probably not enough for Adam and Sybil Strum. So in 1988, they added the magazine as an extension of the Wine Enthusiast Company. Today, the monthly trade magazine is one of the largest and most important publications dealing with wine and spirits. Wine Enthusiast rates wines

The heart of Wine Enthusiast is undoubtedly its wine ratings. Each year, more than 25,000 wines in every price range are blind tasted by the global network of writers and testers. A rating scale of 80 to 100 points is used. Wines below 80 points are not recommended by Wine Enthusiast. A subscription is required to access the associated expert opinions on Wine Enthusiast's digital extended arm.
